schools teachers showcase home

The AFI Screen Education Center empowers teachers and students with the filmmaker's tools of story and character development, design, production, analysis and critique.

Teachers, students and mentors are connected through professional development workshops, ongoing classroom visits and online presentations and feedback. As students apply these skills to the study of their core curriculum subjects, they produce short films to communicate their understanding of academic subjects. The steps in the process of developing a film-writing, pitching, producing and critiquing-provide a compelling and highly motivating way for students to demonstrate their mastery of the curriculum standards that all classroom teachers must meet.
