Letters to the Editor POETRY is looking for thought-provoking responses to work published in the magazine, as well as letters that raise new questions about the state of contemporary poetry. Letters should be sent with the writer's name, address, and phone number via email to editors@poetrymagazine.org. Letters may be edited for length and clarity. We regret that we cannot reply to every letter. Due to the small size of our staff, we are not able to accept poetry submissions via email. |

Former Editor Joseph Parisi and Director of Programs Stephen Young published two books to help POETRY mark its 90th Anniversary: Dear Editor: A History of POETRY in Letters (W. W. Norton) and The POETRY Anthology 1912-2002 (Ivan R. Dee, Publisher). Drawing on correspondence between POETRY editors and such influential poets as Ezra Pound, Robert Frost, William Carlos Williams, Marianne Moore, Wallace Stevens, and Edna St. Vincent Millay, Dear Editor offers an intimate look at the Magazine's history and the personalities behind the development of twentieth-century poetry in English. The Poetry Anthology collects over 600 of the finest poems the Magazine has published in 90 years of uninterrupted publication. |
