The demons, on the other hand, are not made significantly uglier, or less impressive in 1972 than they had been in 1962: the young woman remains the same (see ill. 6.39 a&b), the old woman only gains a little in ugliness through a close-up depiction (see ill. 37 a&b), the old man is made to appear a little more helpless by showing his death from the rear rather than a front perspective (ill. 6.40 a&b).
