Mao's Good Student Jiao Yulu (Mao Zhuxi de hao xuesheng Jiao Yulu 毛主席的好学生焦裕禄)
In some cases, when the same protagonist seems to look rather different from one picture to the next, one can still detect this type of communal production of comics by several different laymen at work. One of these laymen painters remembers: "In these creation teams, there were different types of people, there were the workers and the professionals. The last draft of a comic always went through the professionals. So even though the workers or the peasants would draw or paint the images themselves, they would always do so under the leadership of a professional. Everything that was published underwent censorship. They propagated that the peasants should paint and so they would publish their things, but none that really showed poor painting quality."
