Shao Honglai (邵宏来邵宏来)
Shao Honglai is not only a famous actor in the Chinese movie scene but also a popular director. He was born
in August 1933 in Jiangsu province and attended the Shanghai Theatre Academy (Shanghai xiju xueyuan
上海戏剧学院),
where he graduated in 1952. In his more than 30 years of career he acted in more than 40 different roles,
but he is especially known for embodying two famous figures in modern Chinese history:
Li Zongren (李宗仁) and
Chen Duxiu (陈独秀).
As Chen Duxiu he acted in two films (besides various TV series):
- “Nanchang Uprising (Nanchang qiyi 南昌起义), 1981
- “The Creation of the World” (Kai tian pi di 开天辟地), 1991
As Li Zongren, he acted in the movie “The Battle of Taierzhuang“ (Xuezhan Taierzhuang
血战台儿庄)
and the movie “The Birth of New China” (Kaiguo Dadian 开国大典).
He received the “Golden Rooster Award” and also the “Hundred Flowers Award” for best supporting actor in these two movies. He also acted the role of Li Zongren in
two other movies called “Baise uprising” (Baise qiyi 百色起义) and “After the final battle“
(Juezhan zhihou 决战之后).
For his direction in the 13 part TV-series “Harbin in Darkness” (Yemu xia de Haerbin
夜幕下的哈尔滨) he won the
„Golden Eagle Award“ (Jin ying jiang 金鹰奖) and the “Flying Apsaras
Award” (Fei tian jiang 飞天奖). As director of the 8 part TV-series
“Blood-coloured earth” (Ranxue de tudi 染血的土地) and the TV-movie “Baobab”
(Lü ren jiao 旅人蕉) he also won a TV-series award and the TV-movie award of Shandong province.
